Cookies Policy

Updated 20.03.26

At Brindle, we believe in being open about the technology we use. This policy explains what cookies are, how we use them on our website, and the choices you have over them.

1. About this policy

This Cookie Policy explains how Brindle Limited ("Brindle", "we", "us", "our") uses cookies and similar browser-storage technologies on the Brindle website and application (the "Site"). It also explains your choices about these technologies, and should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

2. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device to store data that can be retrieved by a web server in the domain that placed the cookie. Cookies may be session cookies (expire when you close your browser) or persistent cookies (remain until they expire or you delete them). We also use related browser technologies such as localStorage and sessionStorage. These are not cookies, but we describe them below for transparency.

3. How we use cookies

We keep our use of cookies deliberately small. We use them to:

  • Remember your cookie consent choices (strictly necessary)
  • Protect sign-up and screening forms from automated abuse (security)
  • Measure and improve the Site, but only if you opt in (analytics)

4. Types of cookies we use

A) Strictly necessary (cannot be switched off)

Purpose: remembering your cookie preferences so we don't ask again. Example: c_settings, set by our cookie-consent tool. We do not use cookies to sign you in, your sign-in tokens are stored in your browser's localStorage, and a few interface preferences (such as whether the dashboard sidebar is collapsed) are stored in localStorage or sessionStorage rather than in cookies. Clearing your browser storage will sign you out. Legal basis: our legitimate interests in running a secure, functional service.

B) Performance & analytics (optional; enabled only with your consent)

Providers: Google Analytics and PostHog. Purpose: understand usage and improve features (pageviews, events, funnels, performance). Examples: _ga, gid and ga* (Google Analytics) and ph* (PostHog), used to distinguish users and sessions. These are denied by default and are only set if you accept analytics in our cookie banner. Both are third-party providers, and enabling them may involve transferring limited usage data overseas, including to the United States. Legal basis: your consent.

C) Security & fraud prevention

Provider: Cloudflare Turnstile (used on our trial sign-up and agency screening forms). Purpose: detect and prevent automated abuse and bot traffic. Cloudflare may set its own cookies to provide this service. Legal basis: our legitimate interests in protecting the Site and users.

5. Third-party cookies we use

  • Google Analytics (analytics; set only if you accept analytics)
  • PostHog (analytics; set only if you accept analytics)
  • Cloudflare Turnstile (security; on trial sign-up and screening forms)

Note: Providers may change over time; we'll update this policy as needed.

6. Do we keep cookies?

Strictly necessary & security cookies: yes, these are set and kept as required for the Site to work (the consent cookie, and Cloudflare Turnstile on protected forms). Analytics cookies: only if you accept analytics. If you decline or later withdraw consent, the Google Analytics and PostHog cookies are removed automatically.

7. Cookie retention

  • Session cookies: removed when you close your browser
  • Persistent cookies: retained until their set expiration or you delete them via your browser (typical ranges: days to 13 months)

8. Your choices

We ask for consent before setting non-essential cookies via our cookie banner, which appears on your first visit. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing cookies in your browser; declining analytics removes the related cookies automatically. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies; blocking necessary cookies may affect Site functionality. The Site may not respond to Do Not Track (DNT) signals, use the cookie banner and browser controls described above.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
